A mole, melanocytic nevi also called, is a concentration of melanin pigments deposited in the inner layer of the skin or dermis. moles may occur on any what part of the body and can be flat or raised, and color from light brown to balck. Sometimes, forty moles can be seen on the body. Since moles are usually congenital, they also known as birthmarks. sometimes the hair grows from these moles. Generally, moles are harmless and formations are only on the skin hair, for example. But sometimes they are vital indicators of the onset of cancer. Therefore, any change in the size or color of a mole on the body should be taken seriously, and shown to the doctor. Melanin pigments are not only among humans but also in all animals, especially mammals.
