Question about genital warts ..?

Here's my problem. A while ago my friend told me he has genital warts (just to clarify, no I have not had sex with him), but he said he does not know how he got it. He had sex before but he said the person he was with was tested and came out negative, he swears it is the only person he was with. First question, can you get genital warts without having sex? On my next problem, is it contagious, like if I touch it with the region I hand my contract? Next question (apologies for the many questions): I want to have children, there is something I can do to avoid getting it and having children (And my children will not get it, either) if I do end up marrying him? Is there a cure for genital warts? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! Much appreciated because I do not know what to do.

This is an HPV infection and is contagious. U touch it with your hands and rub your body with U infected hand may have the disease. Most STDs are oc trnasferred for children. Sao this is risky.
