If a guy does not have warts, HPV can be detected?
I was just diagnosed with abnormal Pap and HPV virus on my Pass … Long Story Short – had no idea I had that and I've never had warts and my doctor told me I did not the warts because I have another type of HPV. My boyfriend has scheduled a appt with the doctor to see if he was told that if the male has warts (Which he does not) against HPV is not detected in men and has no way to detect it. Is this correct?
Right … there is no test and it is likely that you had before since men have no symptoms and only 1% of men have genital warts. It unfortunate, but men are only carriers. It is therefore important for women to maintain their Pap test every year. HPV is a virus from the skin and is not detected by blood tests. HPV is common. 3 of 4 people have and do not even know. You can still transmit HPV with no symptoms it is therefore important for your partner to know. You must be good if your in a monogamous relationship. If it does not wear a condom.
