i may have genital herpes…please help?

I am 16 years old and have only had sexual intercorse 1 time. This person was also a virgin. About 6 or 7 months ago i noticed these small bumps on the bottom half of my penis and on my scrotom. Ever since i got them they havent gotten any worse or any better, and i read online that when u have genital herpes that u have outbreaks, but mine has never changed for 6 months. I am to scared to mention it to my parents and go to the doctor.

Hi, based on your question, I would say say you probably do not have herpes. Herpes come and go in outbreaks, and I have never heard of herpes lasting and not changing for 6 months. According to everything I have learned about STDs, an initial herpes outbreak is painful and uncomfortable, but the outbreak goes away in 2-3 weeks. Since yours has not gone away, I would think its not herpes.

But I am not a doctor, and that does not mean that you don’t have something else. I’m not trying to scare you, but you should go to a doctor. Hopefully it is nothing, but it is better to be sure. You are clearly worried about this, and you will feel so much better once you go to the doctor and find out for sure what is going on. And you dont have to tell your parents, and you dont have to go to your family doctor. Planned Parenthood is known for dealing with scared teenagers, I went when I was in high school and couldnt tell my parents that I was having sex.

So go to the doctor!
