The Cost of Mole Removal – Surgery Vs Do It Yourself

Let’s take a look at moles in general, the differences and what you might expect the cost of mole removal to be. Moles are formed on the skin due to excessive pigmentation. Although moles are usually tiny, round and dark spots on the surface of the skin, they can cause a person to be very self-conscious if formed on a prominent skin area like the face. Many people have been quoted saying that not everyone can carry off a face mole like Marilyn Monroe!

If you’re faced with moles, rest assured that they may be harmless if they were formed at birth and can be easily dealt with. If they are formed over the years and grow in size or change in shape over time, you should consult a doctor as these moles can be cancerous. If your moles are from birth however, there are many mole removal remedies you can opt for, depending on the cost and how much you are willing to pay for this aesthetically-necessary change.

Mole removal by plastic surgery is one option. Yes, the hype in the 90s was not only about changing skin color or getting a nose job, but removing moles through plastic surgery too. You can easily find a local clinic specializing in this but bear in mind that plastic surgery is very expensive. If your moles are only an appearance problem it is unlikely you insurance provider will cover the cost.

You may have heard or seen promotions from plastic surgeons offering financing.  While researching the cost I found offers as low as 7.99 % financing. Let’s use an example of a procedure that the surgeon charges $500 for. If you finance it you may end up paying over $1000 for one mole removal.

One of the largest medical financing companies will allow you to pay for your procedure over time. If you pay off you total amount borrowed within an agreed time frame, usually one year you will pay no interest. The catch is this, and what they are counting on is that you do not pay if off within that timeframe. Then the interest may be as high as 29 %. Your cost of removing your mole would jump perhaps as high as $2000.

Another option is going for laser surgery. Although laser surgery is one the best mole removal techniques out there, the cost are similar to those of plastic surgery as discuss above.

You may be able to get rid of your mole at home for less than $100.There are ways you can remove a mole yourself. One very effective method of removing a mole yourself is rubbing honey over it until it penetrates and then covering the area with a bandage for the night. Repeat this procedure for a few weeks and you will notice the mole disappearing gradually.
