Can I carry out living out my life normally if i am diagnosed with genital warts?
i think i might have genital warts, and if i do, im worried it will either kill me, or keep me from living my life normally as i used to. im not that sexually active, but itd be nice to atleast have the option to have sex, or be with someone. and i dont want this to end up killing me for whatever reason. and just cuz you got bumps on your penis, does it always have to be warts? its on the base of it. it doesnt hurt or itch. im just worried this may change my life for the worst. will anybody ever want me again knowing what i have? please give me some advice or experiences.
First off, calm down. They could quite possibly be warts, and they are completely treatable and removable. You would want to do that before having sex, because it would be extremely inconsiderate of you to share them with another person. You will not die from them at any rate. Go see the doctor. He/she will evaluate them and decide on the best way to remove them. Normally they are removed either with applications of liquid nitrogen to freeze them, or painting with a mild salicylic acid solution. It may take several applications to completely remove them, but eventually they will go.
You may not even actually have genital warts. You might just have several flat moles, or raised skin areas. You will not know for certain until you go see the doctor and have them evaluated. There is no need to be embarassed about it, or ashamed. Doctors see it fairly frequently, and treat it. You wouldn’t be the first, and you won’t be the last. As personal as it is to you, it isn’t to them. There is nothing you own that will shock a doctor. I’ve been a nurse and paramedic for more than 20 years, and it’s not even close the first time I’ve heard this story. You won’t die from embarassment, and there’s no need to be embarassed. Just make the appointment, and go see the doctor. You will leave feeling much better and much relieved, I promise.
