Malignant melanoma is what my friend have 29 lymph nodes are still one dissection after block
My friend is awaiting results biopsy tomorrow and is terrified. She had a mole removed from his arm nearly 20 years that was clever. Since then she has been diagnosed with melanoma malignant and had a block dissection is about 3 months. They have now found another node that the consultant believes is malignant. Having had 29 nodes removed before and after have no treatment is there a chance could spread again. She feels well in herself, without loss of weight or appetite. She had no radio therapy / chemotherapy that the consultant did not consider it necessary? What is the probability of its recovery?
Hi David, I do not understand how you must feel. Melanoma can be a dangerous tumor. What you ask is a complex and better handled by the consultant that much depends on the exact type of tumor, where the nodes are, and other issues. As she lived with her for some time and is in good health is greatly in his favor. Without doubt, the consultant will discuss the matter in detail with her. Good luck to you and her.
