Is it safe to remove a skin tag? [Picture Included]?
I have had a skin tag on my back since as long as I can remember. It was originally just a mole, but is continuing to get larger. The image below is was just taken. The current size now is growth over a 10 year period, and it’s only the size of a dime.
Despite the image being graphic and, honestly, gross, I’d like to know if it’s safe to remove this myself. I was told I could bleed to death if it were removed improperly. Its never really bothered me, but it’s getting to the point where it should be removed.
Note the base is quite thin, maybe the width of a #2 pencil lead, so it could be easily snipped away. I don’t feel like visiting a doctor just for this, but if I must I will. Thanks everyone!

There are several effective medical ways to remove a skin tag, including removing with scissors, freezing (using liquid nitrogen), and burning (using medical electric cautery at the physician’s office).
I would suggest doctor, for the most efficient, safest way to remove it. Good luck!
