Is there a safe and effective way to remove skin tags at home?

I have a friend who cut hers off with toe nail clippers. She said she snipped a little off the top first to see if it hurt and when it didn’t she went on to cut it entirely off. I tries the same approach but it hurt so I didn’t proceed. It is under my arm and is hard to shave around. And quite honestly its ugly and I want it gone. I do not have insurance or the money to have it removed.

If it’s under your arm this might be tough without some help, but you can do what they did in the old days and tie a string around it. You tie a thread tightly around the base of the tag as close to your skin as possible. (I would wrap the string around it several times.) Then you wait for it to die and fall off. It will take a few days- maybe a week. Keep it clean with rubbing alcohol. This will also help it to dry up and fall off. I’ve done this myself with excellent results. Good luck.
