What is the best way to remove skin tags?

I have a raw skin tag along on the side of my torso. I heard about skin tag removal home kits you can buy and do it yourself. I have heard of the link repair dental floss or thread around the beacon and wait a bit and it will eventually fall. Is this a recommended way to do it? I'm looking for in the least painful and profitable than remove it. Thank you.
