genital warts or skin tags?
About seven months ago I had a urinary tract infection. I knew this because I was experiencing frequent urination in small amounts. I never went in for professional treatment, it just went away. But about three months later I began to experience heavy thick discharge. I was worried. About a month and a half ago my actual vaginal entry began to swell really bad and become sensitive and the discharge still continued. Just this week I discovered what looks like skin tags on the inside of my vagina. they are clear looking and they don’t hurt but i have been experiencing itching and burning. I don’t know what to do and i really scared and i don’t know if i can live with genital warts or anything like it. I pray that this is not what i have. Can someone please please help me.
It all depends on your sexual history– HPV (which is genital warts and possibly cervical cancer causing) is VERY VERY contagious…condoms do not protect against and and VERY common, 50% of women have had HPV. Fortunately, it isn’t as serious as other STDS, like herpes, because often times your bodies builds and immunity and HPV goes away (for the most part– it goes dormant and the liklihood of it presenting itself ever again is slim).
Now, skin tags inside your vagina? I don’t think so…some type of infection, maybe HPV or maybe just something that can be treated with an antibacterial med, is likely I would say.
At this point you REALLY should see a doctor for a pap test. HPV can cause burning and itching but it can also cause no discomfort whatsoever.
