warts on the penis can be anything but an STD?
I recently noticed a wart on my penis, but I never had sex with my wife for the past 2 years, and when we started having sex, she had not had sex sex in 3 years. She had a papsmear and was clean. I just recently saw the wart maybe 4 months ago. I'm sure it's impossible that I had through sexual contact. Is this just a normal wart or something else?
All warts are caused by HPV, even "normal" warts on the hands and feet. You can perform HPV for years, even decades, without knowing it. The truth is that most sexually active people have had HPV in a some form. Most never have symptoms and are never diagnosed. You could not have achieved this through sexual contact. HPV types have their favorite places to live, but they can live anywhere on the skin. It is therefore quite possible that the warts on the penis is actually a "normal" wart. It would not be very frequent, but it can and does happen. You might have shaken hands with someone, get your infected hand, and has infected your own genitals. In addition, the types of HPV that cause warts do not cause cancer of the cervix. The question here for you I think, is that HPV is not a sign of infidelity, either on your part or that of your wife.
