What is the treatment for an external anal polyp/skin tag?

Polyp/skin tag becomes inflamed and is slowly increasing in size. Female, middle aged.
Nurse specialist stated that it would need a general anaesthetic etc so to leave well alone. It is constantly inflamed and stinging. What should I do?

It may be a skin tag, or it may be a hemmorhoid.
Sounds more like the latter to me.
See your dr. and he will probably want to remove it.
