Genital Warts and Pregnancy?

Ok, so about 6 almost 7 years ago, I had my first outbreak of HPV. It took a lot of doc visits to clear it up, but about 2 years later I was given a clean bill of health. Once I got pregnant with my son, a couple showed up on my cervix, doc wasn’t too concerned and said they would probably go away after the pregnancy, and they did. So for 5 years, I’ve been symptom free. Perfect pap tests. Until now, I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and I’ve noticed that I have a couple small bumps in my pubic hair area. Nothing near my vagina. They’ve only shown up in the last two weeks. So I have 2 questions, one, is it normal for HPV to show up only in the hair area? Two, could this be a different strain that I’ve acquired in the last 5 years and has it been sitting dormant until my pregnancy? My pap test they gave me at 6 weeks came back perfectly normal. All my blood work came back perfect.

The symptoms of genital warts get worse during pregnancy since the immune system gets suppressed normally during this period, making the woman more susceptible to infections and viruses. Thus, genital warts may become larger during pregnancy.
