Warts are a completely different type of skin condition to moles. They can sometimes look alike and this can cause some confusion.

Children are most likely to suffer from this type of wart, particularly so if they suffer from the skin complaint eczema.

Sebaceous cysts are areas occur where a combination of oils and white blood cells collect to form a pocket of white pasty substance deep under the skin. Due to the raised lump that is visible on the skin these can also be confused with warts but are in fact completely different. The main way to tell the difference is that sebaceous cysts are not dark in colour but are just a hard smooth lump under the skin. Whereas warts are growths on top of the skin that are usually discoloured.
